Find your stance

Find your stance

The advice from your Snowboard instructor

How can I find the right stance?

One of the most frequent questions I have been asked in my experience as a snowboard instructor over the years is: "How can I find the stance?"

The term stance is used in snowboarding world to indicate the distance between the bindings.

From over the years following the fashion of the moment, we have gone from very wide to super narrow stance depending of the rider and style.

At the beginning when I started working as a snowboard instructor, I used the "rule" that I was taught at the training course, which is: a quarter of my height plus a range that goes from 0 to 15 cm.
Having said that, my personal advice has always been to have a stance that guarantees us good stability and where ankles/knees/hip have good mobility.

In the past years we have already references given by the manufacturer to facilitate the rider's life with many different types of snowboards on the market that go according to everyone's needs (freestyle, freeride, carving, etc ...)

If you have any questions or curiosities about it, do not hesitate to write us, we would be more than happy to give you further advice.

And ... we are waiting for you at snowboard lessons for a technical refresher and some fun descents!
